From Student Rotation to Clinical Developer & Growth Strategist: Mark's Journey with MAPflow
October 31, 2025
For many pharmacy students, rotations are a predictable part of their education. They're valuable, but often confined to clinical routines within hospital or community settings. When Mark Gobran joined MAPflow last spring as a student on rotation, he broke the mould. Now, he's returning as our Clinical Developer & Growth Strategist—a testament to how much he's grown with our team.
A Rotation That Redefined Possibilities
During his time as a student, Mark worked alongside developers, UX designers, and clinicians to help MAPflow develop digital tools that address real healthcare needs.
This experience broadened his perspective beyond traditional pharmacy practice. At MAPflow, Mark wasn't simply observing or applying textbook knowledge. He was actively helping shape tools and solutions that improve both practitioner workflows and patient care.
"As a pharmacist, you usually look through the eyes of your patient. At MAPflow, I had to consider not only the patient's experience but also how other pharmacists, developers, and team members would interact with what we were building."
Kenny Chong, MAPflow's Director of Clinical Innovation, recognized Mark's potential early on:
"Mark is an enthusiastic and resourceful learner. His previous experience in community pharmacy and medication therapy management enabled him to provide a practical perspective to MAPflow's development process. We especially appreciate his contributions to our chronic disease management arm of the platform."
From Listening to Leading
As part of his rotation, Mark represented MAPflow at the Pharmacy U Conference, where he engaged directly with pharmacists to gather feedback on our tools and technology.
"I knew a lot of people at the conference, so I reached out on behalf of MAPflow to hear their honest experiences. Asking the hard questions, even the ones they didn't expect us to want to hear, helped us improve. We took that feedback seriously and made changes."
That commitment to listening and implementing real-world feedback became a defining characteristic of Mark's approach—one that continues to shape his work with us today.
A New Chapter: From Student to Colleague
Mark's journey with MAPflow hasn't changed his passion for community pharmacy, but it has expanded what he sees as possible within the profession. “I want to contribute to innovations that are changing the field of pharmacy, like the work being done at MAPflow." Now, as he returns to MAPflow as a Clinical Developer & Growth Strategist, Mark brings both his clinical foundation and his proven ability to think across disciplines. He’s helping to lead innovation.
What Mark's Story Means for MAPflow
Mark's progression from student to colleague reflects our commitment to recognizing and nurturing talent. We don't just provide learning experiences; we create pathways for those who show initiative, adaptability, and a genuine passion for transforming pharmacy practice.
His story is proof that when students are empowered to contribute meaningfully, think across disciplines, and break the mould, they don't just learn—they become essential parts of the innovation itself.
Welcome back, Mark. We can't wait to see what we'll build together next.
