Three Years of Partnership: MAPflow and the Ontario Pharmacists Association

January 1, 2026

This year marks three years of partnership between MAPflow and the Ontario Pharmacists Association (OPA), a collaboration that began alongside the January 2023 expansion of pharmacist scope in Ontario and has grown into one of the strongest working relationships we have.

A Strong Start

When pharmacists in Ontario gained the ability to assess and prescribe for minor ailments, MAPflow was ready to meet the moment with a platform designed to support pharmacists in delivering safe, evidence-based care. Partnering with OPA gave that work a foundation. Within three weeks of launch, more than 1,000 pharmacists were using the platform, a signal of how ready the profession was for tools built with their practice in mind.

What the OPA and MAPflow Partnership Means

This partnership is about more than software. OPA members receive exclusive access and pricing, and the Association gains aggregate data that strengthens its advocacy on behalf of Ontario pharmacists. Together with OPA and the University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy, we have also helped deliver interactive workshops that equip pharmacists to provide minor ailment services with greater confidence and competence. Each of these pieces reinforces the same goal: giving pharmacists the tools, evidence, and support they need to practice at the top of their scope.

Underpinning all of it is a habit of listening. By staying close to the needs of pharmacists at every step, we have been able to keep improving the platform in ways that reflect how care is actually delivered, which is a large part of why adoption has grown so steadily.

Three years in, this partnership remains as strong as ever. We are grateful to OPA for their trust and collaboration, and we look forward to continuing this work as pharmacist-led care keeps expanding across the country and beyond.
